I’ve heard that it’s mentally healthier to have a more flexible diet. also, I like to look at my food as a whole over the course of a week (average) instead of on a daily or even meal-y basis! you’re average consumption over a week will affect your body much more than your caloric intake for one meal!
within a week you’ll probably be able to feel how much food is right for you without going over or under your caloric maintenance range (:
also letting loose and enjoying food feels so much better than counting it! I hope this helped!
